Taranaki Air Rifle 5.11.22
Hello again, what a weekend of sport. The Black Ferns rugby girls match with the French. It was a fine match up with doubt on who would win right up to the last minute. I hear you say what has that to do with shooting. Well next weekend it is going to be the 50/30 metre champs. Who will win is the big question. Geoff Coubrough should be on the money but now there are several other shooters that could unseat him. Maybe more so if a tricky wind comes into play. One to watch would be Nigel Kay. John Brogden is also right up there with his Springer with a shock absorbing scope. Mark Evans is also shooting well. Several others might be in with a shot, its been a bit of a build up over the last few weeks and who can handle the pressure the best on the day will probably win.
This week one set of targets we had were chicken Silhouettes at 50 metres and they are as big as your thumb nail. Geoff Coubrough was knocking them down with ease. Mark Evans with a break barrelled Springer took 8/10 rams down and John Costain hit a 83 score at 30 metres. Other information was hard to get because being a practice day shooters were keeping there own scores. I think it is called sandbagging but all will be revealed next weekend.
So that's about all for this week
