This week's update from Frank: -
The weather was perfect at Eltham Range this last Saturday. Nearly no wind and the 50 metre flags were hanging down most of the time. When the flags showed even small movement tight groups were hard to get. Frank was very lucky to be ahead of Tim with a 76 and third Geoff with 70. The second round Nigel came up with a 96 and Frank with a 98. that's both groups the size of a 5cent coin. That would be as good a group that any 22target rifle could get. I know because I used to shoot with one. Nigel went on to knock over 5/10 knockdowns at the 50 metre range as did Mark. Once again Geoff showed how it was done by knocking down 7/10 Field targets all at the 50 metre mark.
Safety is a big part of our sport and club members find it hard to believe why there is a need for the far reaching implications of the proposed new arms regulations. The cost of putting new laws into place that will not improve rifle safety one little bit. I n fact the opposite will happen, if clubs that used to train new shooters into rifle safety, have to close because of compliance issues.
