Air Rifles
Outdoor 50 metre Range
The weather was good and it was great to be outdoors.
15 minutes to warm up and sight-in was provided.
With the cobwebs and rust cleared we commenced 4 x 20 shot rounds with a potential 800 points.
Not one shooter got through without some level of dismay at the windage corrections. The indicator flags were barely moving but were often showing different directions at various locations down range.
Frank scored 640 to take the days honours and with 576 Geoff took 2nd and Keith was next with 573.
Each target is shot twice and has an outside diameter of 48mm with a bull at 6.5mm.
Below a sample target from Keith's set demonstrates a double hit on the bull. Scoring 20 points from 50 metres with a .22 pre-charged pneumatic air rifle takes practice, these were difficult to come by on the day so Keith shot three to give us all hope.
