Presidents 50 Metre New Years Eve challenge
Shooting at 50 metres on 25yd targets in shifting winds you would have to be nuts. But that is what was done. To score a 10 you would be having to hit a size of the end of a pencil.
Tim W managed it 5 times in a row with his new Uragan Air Rifle. Seven Wind flags were put up to help shooters judge wind. There were times that all the flags were showing different wind directions and strength. Mark observed a number of closely paired shots away from the bull. They are plainly wind affected. It takes courage after one wind affected shot to hold over for the second shot to try for a centre. It doesn't work all the time but when it does it is so rewarding . That second shot has to be within 1 to 2 seconds or you miss the bus so to speak. I like to think that firing a good shot takes 10per cent effort and judging the wind 90 per cent. And that my friends is my per cent to this report .
