This week's update from Frank: -
The Crosman Challenge.
This was a new competition shot for the first time.
As the name suggests all shooters had to use a Crosman pistol shot on a bench at 12-5 yards. On the silhouettes. The hardest chicken was worth 4 with a multiplier target 10 for a bull = 40 points per shot, miss the chicken and 0 points. Some opted for the bigger pigs. In total 40 targets were shot with 4 multipliers. The first rack Geoff Coubrough and Frank Eustace managed clear rounds. The second rack Geoff got a lead of one target. The third round Frank pulled it back to even . The fourth round both shooters dropped one target to both end on 1480. A shoot off was called for shot for shot until a chicken was missed. Geoff shot 7 and Frank nicked a chicken 6 shot which turned but stayed up . So after 51 shots Geoff was the worthy first winner of the Crosman challenge. Brian Cook was wasn't far behind stalking the top two only 3 targets astray.
Scores were:
Geoff Coubrough 1480 Frank Eustace 1480
Brian Cook 1368 Karyn Cook 1056
Tim Walker 932 Mark Evans 855
John Costain 616 Nigel Kay 591
Shane Roberts 369 Charlene Roberts 180
To go from a silhouette, to a paper target, was hard not only was it on a different elevation, but a score hinged on getting a good hit to multiply with the chosen silhouette. The Cooks initiated a shared lunch with hot savories . Many thanks to all that contributed.
It was fun but next week the challenge changes back to rifles. If it is fine it will be outdoors.
Keep those pellets flying straight. Cheers Frank
