Match report from Frank - Today was another bench rest shoot. With the wider 50metre range targets were well spread out. With targets at a 20 yd spread there were some acute angles and 4 targets at 40yds and more, it was a testing time for all. It was still the rat target at 11yds with its smaller hit zone that proved the big challenge. Geoff was up to it and took down 10 consecutive targets and was the only clear round of the day. A great effort Geoff and a lesson to all of us about getting the correct calibrations on scopes. A far off second was Frank with 7 and John with 6/10 . For the second round of the day the best shooting would have been by Mark using his trusty Gamo springer taking down 7/10. I have to add that springer air rifles are considered harder to shoot than PCPs. John S with a borrowed air rifle hit 4/10 which was commendable considering he has only shot air rifle 3 times. Geoff hit another good round of 8/10. All shooters are starting to come to grips with the skills of bench rest field target, and scores are improving week by week. Although no scores were kept, everyone enjoyed the shade of the 50 metre mound and left the range looking forward to next week. Next week, the Christmas bbq will be held after the morning's shoot and so we expect a good turnout of members and partners.
