Speedy competed in the WFTF World Championships in Wellington.
Speedy won 3rd place in the springer section. This is his story:
I was happy to have made the WFTF World
Championships in New Zealand this year. Day one saw me running around like a
headless chook, as I was a target marshal and all the targets were failing.
Andy Kays (the president of WFTF) stopped the shoot
as all targets were failing.
The targets were sorted out on Friday with test
firing all targets.
On Saturday shooting continued with all of us
having to shoot the remainder of Friday, and try to get as many targets in for
Saturday before poor light set in. The shoot got stopped again with me having
shot 8 of the 25 lanes.
On Sunday we shot the rest of the course with new
partners, and I was lucky to have shot with people I knew from
Canada.
I was ready to pull out on Saturday eve, as well as
a few other Kiwi shooters due to fatigue. The organiser kept on encouraging us
to carry on and that is a result of the trophy.
I must thank all the other shooters and people that
pulled out to run things smoothly for their efforts.
Thanks to Adam for a well run, catered, looked
after event.
