Outdoor 50 metre Silhouettes

Developing this format is proving interesting and with no breaks in the wind scoring was difficult compared to last time.

Scores: Geoff 22/40, Frank 30/40, Mark 6/40, John 23/40.

Frank had the better day but was still left pondering.

Sighting time was used well and Geoff commenced with a perfect ten on the rams, Frank followed with 7, Mark a pleasing 5 and John a credible 8 so it was on.

Mark fell by the wayside and with Geoff and Johns scores declining Frank just needed to stay steady. His round included an especially good 9 on the pig silhouettes where the 10th just turned 90 degrees refusing to fall. Frank was asked by all to take an extra shot to see what he could do, the target was a 4 mm strip of steel at 50 metres, robust applause followed as number 10 was clinically dispatched.

Time was taken to discuss and practice windage corrections which is where the greatest accuracy gains are now available.

The Range is looking great ready for a 50 metre small bore tournament on Sunday, good luck to all.
