Following setup and safety briefing, round one incorporated Rams, Chickens and special targets for bragging rights.
36 shots were allowed in a round and these could be used warming up, sighting or apportioned between the different targets.
Round 1: Geoff 20/36, Frank16/36, John19/36, Mark 1/36 and Nigel 21/36.
Half way and the winner was far from certain. At this point specials had been scored by both Mark and Nigel and celebrated accordingly, modesty and humility were lacking and Mark needed a moment before continuing.
It was noted that 30mm windage correction was common in round 1 so choosing your moment was important.
Round 2: Geoff 20/36, Frank 15/36, John 16/36, Mark 2/36 and Nigel 18/36.
Frank accounted for an impressive two special sidewinder targets, there was a general opinion that three consecutive specials would be required to assign a proficient status in the club records. That challenge will certainly be taken up in the future.
End of day had Geoff in front closely followed by Nigel and John C.
Sunshine and pleasant company were indeed the order of the day with a surprise drop in by Daniel and Andreea Chirac starting a fascinating discussion regarding music preferences and concerts that have and plan to be attended.
