Outdoor 30 Metres
Dial it back for the Sub 12 ft/lb Trophy
Conversation often drifts to some of the great sub 12 shooting that takes place in Britain. John B hosted a day where we all could put aside some of the high tech gear and have a go. Perfect opportunity to front with your 1974 BSA Meteor or the like.
So what did show up: Weihrauch, Hämmerli, AirArms and FX all very modern and capable.
The Chronograph sent some to the sidelines with regulated high tech rifles dialled back but measured at 12.3 ft.lb on the day so you cannot always rely on the manufacturers settings.
The rules: 3 warmers, 20 target shots and a metal dropdown could give maximum score of 210 points.
The day remained dry but cold and gusty throughout all rounds and at halfway a warm cuppa was in order.
Technical difficulties were experienced and the sidelines were growing.
Well done to the competitors and thanks to John B for a great idea and what will become a much sought after trophy.
1st place John Cn. (9.8 ft/lb)
2nd place Keith Z. (9.8 ftlb)
3rd place John B. (11.7ft/lb)
John Costain receives the inaugural trophy from President Geoff Coubrough.
