Grouping Competition at 25 Yards
Franks rules are invoked to set shooters and their airguns on a common footing.
Rounds of 25 shots are used to stretch concentration.
Leading at the end of round 1 Nigel shot several groups well below 0.5 inch.
However in top notch form John Chandler prevailed but there was little in it as three experienced shooters provided an exhibition day.
!st place John Chandler
2nd place John Costain
3rd place Nigel Kay
The rest of the field was closer than ever so well done all.
Numero Uno
When shooters are producing 5 shot groups at 0.25" to 0.5" they are working their airguns towards 1 MOA
A minute of angle, usually used as a measure of group size, target size or shot dispersion allowing comparison with others and recording personal bests.
A quick check against previous results showed genuine improvement over the previous year.
MOA = Minute Of Angle
1 MOA = 1/4 inch at 25 yards
1MOA - 1/2 inch at 50 yards
1MOA = 1 inch at 100 yards
