TARC 28.01.2023
Well it couldn't have been much wetter with a big low pressure all over the North Island. A keen bunch of Air Rifle enthusiasts turned up to shoot indoors 25yds bench rest paper. Scores were of 40 shots with handicap added. The most improved shooter to win today was Nigel Kay with 417.39 . Second was Keith Zehnder and Frank Eustace a distant 3rd. With handicap scores close to 400 or just over it made a very level playing field for every one. After a cuppa some shooters stayed for a further 40 shots. A perfect 200 score was shot by Frank to finish on 396 followed by Geoff Coubrough 2nd and third Keith Zehnder.
Scores with handicaps were: Nigel Kay 417.39, Keith Zehnder 408.71. Frank Eustace 406.15, John Costain 403.34, Geoff Coubrough 400.69, Paul Kuriger 400. Mark Evans 385.32. Karen and Brian Cook had scores off the rifle of 255 and 323 , Some scores were affected by low air pressure and double loading. With the threat of disqualifying if shooters shot on wrong targets there was a lot of care to try and make sure that did not happen. I would have to say that the bar of expectation was raised today. What we used to shoot no longer cuts the mustard.
Congratulations you all shot well.
Cheers Frank
Editors pic, we all enjoy watching a great airgun score card come together.
