Karyn getting the most consistent shooter award from Mark E
A Cracker of a day close to the snow.
There was almost no wind but when there was, it was predictable. Not like at Eltham when the wind swirls and comes from all directions. We had native bush all around and the gurgling of the river along side. The snow capped Mountain looked close enough to touch . What could be better? After warning everyone to dress warmly, it was a hot day in the sun.
A big thank you to the farm owners to allow us to shoot on their property. To Brian and
Karyn Cook for the provisions of hot water and choice eats for morning tea. Also to Geoff C for bringing up a trailer full of gear . Thanks also to John Costain for his panel beating skills for beating the Knock down targets into shape.
Shooters were free to pick targets from paper from 25yds to 50 yds., and Knock down targets at various distances , also the Tree Knock Around Self Setting. Or TKASS and as an extra challenge standing Tripod shooting, maybe we could have a comp with everyone shooting this way.
Now results : Karyn took out the trophy for the most consistent of the day at 30metre
s with scores of 93, 92, 93. Amazing considering Karyn hadn't shot for quite some time through injury. Charlene on the TKASS 6/6, 5/6 And a real tight group of 98 at 30 metres. Shane scored at 50 metres 82, 94 and on the tripod a credible 46. Mark on the FT shot 8/10 and 87 at 50 m. Brian C on the TKASS 6/6 and a 94 at 30M. Frank E after shooting well on paper at 50m he could only get 6/15 on the FTs. Geoff C. is still sighting in his Maverick but with his trusty Wildcat shot 8/10 FTs. John Costain scored a 86 at 30 m. This is only a précis of the scores as it wasn't a competition as such and shooters could pick what they wanted to do.
Shooting by every one was of a high standard , maybe if was the Mountain Air. When asked all shooters said they enjoyed the chance and challenge of shooting in such a picture perfect place and would come again. I don't think it will be very long before they get the chance.
Nigel with his new hearing protection.
Cheers Frank.
