Match Report by Frank - A group of keen air rifle shooters lined for a shot at the 300 club.This exclusive club requires shooters to score a minimum 300 points standing, kneeling, sitting and prone with some variations. No one was up to the standard this time but Nigel was top shot with 247 followed by Frank 193 John snr was third on 167. New shooter Richard shot 150 to be 4th shows great promise to rattle the cage of seasoned shooters. This type of shoot is a real challenge and needs heaps of concentration and very good technical skills to achieve tight groups. For those that did not shoot there was a working bee painting the field targets. As an idea maybe we should paint them after every shoot. We will see a big difference when they are next set up. The most important thing when we shoot is the camaraderie, sometimes the shooting is not up to what we expect of ourselves but the fun of getting together is the most important part , thank goodness for the fun and chatter.
